This week is the week that – according to the Internet – is when most people give up their New Year’s resolutions. Beginning last year, I set out to make myself accountable to my resolutions as well as make them more actionable. “To lose weight” is always a good resolution but it has no direction. Just what do you plan to do to lose weight? Eat more vegetables? Walk? Run? Now those are smarter resolutions and measurable. They can also be broken down easier than losing weight.

This year I want to add more fruits and vegetables to our diet and let’s face it, fruit that is in season just tastes better. I know apples are in season in January/February and most – if not all – berries are spring/summer. Other than that, I’m clueless.

On the subject of keeping resolutions, I find it helpful to write them down and put that list where you have to look at it everyday. It definitely helps with not forgetting which provide its only motivation.
